The food is sooooo good. I had the ribs. Finger licking good. With their multiple sauces. The service was great. Bilingual. Ambiance was very warm, not a quiet place.

Every year when we visit South Lake Tahoe to play at the snow, we make sure to eat here. They have big serving and awesome BBQ. Their staff are very friendly. We'll keep coming back here.

Dog friendly, comfortable seating and space. Great service. Pool table and bar if you wanna play. Can I gush about the food though? Dear god. Chili verde soup is best I've ever had. Side salad perfect yummy fries craving it so bad!

One of the best barbecues I've had in the Lake Tahoe Area, and probably extends further towards the Northern California region when I'm from. The meat is VERY tender and flavorful. We had the beef ribs and brisket with cornbread, baked beans and sweat seasoned fries. All the various sauces had such rich flavor and some had a spicy kick to it. Good pour on the Irish pig and Irish Whiskey! Definitely a place worth visiting and RE-visiting. Not to mention, service from the host, server, bartender, and chef were top notch. Very attentive staff. Felt at home.

We ate lunch here last Thursday and I would come back. Pros: - The hostess warned us that we could be seated but there was a long wait for service. - Dogs are allowed inside. - The Irish Pig and Hot Toddy were really good. - My 4 year old daughter drank more than half of her hot chocolate in 2 minutes. It was served at the perfect temperature for her. - The food was overall above average. - I preferred the pork ribs over the beef ribs. - The BBQ sauces were good. - The coleslaw hit the spot for me. - The wait staff were very friendly. Cons: - The Mac and Cheese was ok. - The jalapeño cornbread with the honey butter was good, but a little dry. - My daughter's French fries were good, but mine were cooked a little too long and noticeably darker.

My husband and I ALWAYS try a new BBQ joint on our anniversary. We have been to multiple restaurants in the Tahoe Basin. Out of all the ones we have tried, this one smashed its way to the top. Now I don't know whether to continue the tradition of trying a new one each year, or just being content that we found the best one. lol The server was so cheery and engaging. The food was ready faster than at a fast food restaurant. The atmosphere was sports-bar-meets-ski-lodge. There's table service for the bill and also curbside pick up. And then... there's the food. Y'all my husband and I lived in the south for 6 years. We know bbq. This was "take me home down county roads" good. Extremely tender, and smoked for 12-14 hours. The bun was so fresh and so buttery, it actually contributed to the flavor ensemble. And the sandwich is HUGE! The fries were amazing as well. I got the pulled pork sandwich with a salad and my husband got the pulled pork sandwich with fries. We split the sides so we each got some salad and fries which balances out the meal very nicely. This was and is a fantastic find. As a connoisseur of the bbq joints in the area, I will be advising people in Sonney's direction from now on.
